Eventbrite API vs Songkick API for AI agents
Eventbrite API is Eventbrite's REST API (v3) for working with events, orders, attendees and organizations on Eventbrite. Songkick API is Songkick's concerts and festivals API for live music events, artists, venues and metro areas.
The short answer
- Eventbrite API: Managing your own Eventbrite events or reading events from venues and organizers whose IDs you already know; not for open discovery.
- Songkick API: Live music listings for existing licensed partners; new developers cannot get a key today.
Side by side
| Eventbrite API | Songkick API | |
|---|---|---|
| Searches | No public event search: the Event Search endpoint was shut down in December 2019. You can fetch an event by ID and list events by venue ID or organization ID. | Concerts and festivals by artist, date, venue and location; artists, venues and metro areas; past concert history for artists. |
| Returns | Event records retrieved by event ID, or paginated lists of events for a known venue or organization. | – |
| Before the first call | – | An approved API key under a partnership agreement with a license fee; no student, educational or hobbyist projects. |
| Paid | – | A license fee is required; the amount is not published (details are in the application form). |
| Acting on a result | – | A link to songkick.com is required; Songkick data may not be used to build a ticketing service. |
| Limits on keeping or showing results | – | Cached data may be kept for at most 24 hours, and no copies of Songkick data may be retained; attribution is required wherever Songkick data is shown. |
