Eventbrite API vs StubHub API for AI agents
Eventbrite API is Eventbrite's REST API (v3) for working with events, orders, attendees and organizations on Eventbrite. StubHub API is StubHub's OAuth2 REST API for searching events, buying tickets and listing tickets on the StubHub marketplace.
The short answer
- Eventbrite API: Managing your own Eventbrite events or reading events from venues and organizers whose IDs you already know; not for open discovery.
- StubHub API: Approved affiliate and reseller partners who want to search and buy resale tickets from StubHub inside their own product.
Side by side
| Eventbrite API | StubHub API | |
|---|---|---|
| Searches | No public event search: the Event Search endpoint was shut down in December 2019. You can fetch an event by ID and list events by venue ID or organization ID. | Events on the StubHub ticket marketplace (catalog), plus inventory, sales and account data for partners. |
| Returns | Event records retrieved by event ID, or paginated lists of events for a known venue or organization. | – |
| Before the first call | – | Access is granted on request: affiliates and buyer-facing apps email StubHub's affiliate team, seller tools email API support; every request needs an OAuth2 token. |
| Acting on a result | – | Checkout through the API (purchase tickets for an event), for partners who are given access. |
