StubHub API vs Bandsintown API for AI agents
StubHub API is StubHub's OAuth2 REST API for searching events, buying tickets and listing tickets on the StubHub marketplace. Bandsintown API is an API for artists and their teams to show their own Bandsintown tour dates on their websites and apps.
The short answer
- StubHub API: Approved affiliate and reseller partners who want to search and buy resale tickets from StubHub inside their own product.
- Bandsintown API: An artist's own website showing that artist's tour dates with ticket links.
Side by side
| StubHub API | Bandsintown API | |
|---|---|---|
| Searches | Events on the StubHub ticket marketplace (catalog), plus inventory, sales and account data for partners. | Upcoming and past events for one artist, looked up by artist name or ID; there is no open search across all events. |
| Returns | – | Event date and time, venue name and location, lineup, description, ticket links (offers) and the Bandsintown event link. |
| Before the first call | Access is granted on request: affiliates and buyer-facing apps email StubHub's affiliate team, seller tools email API support; every request needs an OAuth2 token. | An API key (app_id) from Bandsintown for Artists, linked to a single artist; other uses need Bandsintown's approval or a partnership. |
| Acting on a result | Checkout through the API (purchase tickets for an event), for partners who are given access. | Ticket link: events include ticket offers, and the terms may require using Bandsintown's ticket links as the primary ones. |
| Limits on keeping or showing results | – | Session-based caching is allowed if you notify Bandsintown; content must be attributed to Bandsintown. |
