Zillow (Bridge API) vs Redfin Data Center for AI agents
Zillow Group's developer portal lists APIs such as MLS Listings (served through the Bridge Listing Output platform), Public Records and Zestimates, and the listings and public records APIs are invite-only. Redfin's Data Center offers downloadable US housing market statistics; Redfin publishes no listings API.
The short answer
- Zillow (Bridge API): Brokers and approved vendors that already have MLS relationships and want a RESO-normalized feed from Zillow's Bridge platform.
- Redfin Data Center: Free-to-download market trend data (prices, inventory, delistings) for research and charts, not finding a specific home.
Side by side
| Zillow (Bridge API) | Redfin Data Center | |
|---|---|---|
| Searches | MLS listing data from the MLS partners connected to Bridge; a separate Public Records API covers parcel, assessment and county transaction data. | Market-level series such as the Housing Market Tracker (weekly and monthly), Redfin Home Price Index, price drops, delistings and investor purchases; not individual homes. |
| Returns | JSON listing records normalized to the RESO Data Dictionary (MLS Listings API). | Download files where each row is one region for one time period. |
| Before the first call | An invitation: you request access through a form, and every MLS partner decides whether you get its data. | Nothing stated; the data is a download button on the page. |
| Acting on a result | – | Nothing: the downloads are aggregate statistics with no listings or contacts. |
| Limits on keeping or showing results | – | Redfin's terms forbid automated crawling or querying of the site and copying or redistributing MLS listing information. |
| AI in its terms | – | No AI rule; the only AI mention is an MLS (BAREIS) disclaimer that listing material may have been generated by AI. |
| Coverage | US and Canada, but only for MLSs that partner with Bridge and approve you. | US |
